Asphalt Paving
What asphalt paving is, and who it is for
Asphalt paving means laying hot asphalt over a firm, graded stone base, then rolling it smooth and tight. Done right, you get a dark, even surface that sheds water and stands up to cars, trucks and snow plows.
Most of our work is home driveways. We also pave private roads, small parking areas and farm lanes. We look at your soil, your drainage and how you use the space. Then we set base depth and asphalt thickness to fit, and write it on your quote.
How it works
3 simple steps
- Step 1
Request your free quote
Call or send the form. We come out, measure, check your base and drainage, and give you a clear written quote.
- Step 2
We prep, grade and pave
We remove the old surface if needed, fix soft spots, grade for drainage and compact the stone base. Then we lay hot asphalt and roll it tight.
- Step 3
You get pavement built to last
Clean edges, an even finish and water that runs off instead of soaking in. It is backed by our 3 year workmanship and materials guarantee.
Problems it fixes
Problems new asphalt paving fixes
Cracks that keep coming back
Freeze and thaw cycles in central New Jersey open new cracks every winter. When pavement is worn out, patching only buys time. New asphalt on a sound base starts fresh.
Puddles and washouts
Low spots hold water after every storm, and a nor'easter can wash loose stone into the street. Proper grading sends water where it belongs.
Soft, sinking spots
Loose sand and heavy clay can both shift under a thin base. We fix the base first so the top stays put.
Gravel that never stays neat
Stone gets tracked into the house and plowed onto the lawn. Asphalt gives you a clean, firm surface all year.
Benefits
Why choose asphalt paving
Built to last
A well built asphalt surface on a solid base can serve you for many years with simple care.
Made for winter
Asphalt flexes a little in the cold, so it handles freeze and thaw and road salt well.
Easy to plow
A smooth, even surface makes shoveling and plowing quicker, with no stones flying.
Better drainage
We grade so water runs off the pavement and away from your home and garage.
Curb appeal
Fresh black asphalt makes the whole property look cared for.
Easy to repair
If something happens later, asphalt can be patched and sealed without tearing it all out.

Options
Your asphalt paving options
New install
We remove the old surface, rebuild the base and pave new. Best when the pavement is broken up or the base has failed.
Overlay
A new layer of asphalt over sound pavement. A good choice when the base is solid but the top is worn and cracked.
Gravel to asphalt
We grade and firm up your stone drive, add base where it is thin and pave over it.
Widen or extend
Add a parking pad, a turnaround or extra width to the pavement you already have.
FAQ
Asphalt Paving questions
Still have questions? Call (908) 720-2444. We pick up.
How much does asphalt paving cost?+
It depends on the size of the area, the condition of your base and how easy it is to get equipment in. Your quote is free and written, so you know the number before we start.
Should I overlay or tear out my old pavement?+
If the base is solid and the cracks are only on top, an overlay can work well. If it is sinking, crumbling or holding water, a full tear out is the better fix. We will tell you honestly which one you need.
How soon can I drive on new asphalt?+
You can usually walk on it the next day. Driving takes a few days longer, and more in hot weather. We give you clear instructions for your job.
When is the best time of year to pave?+
Asphalt needs warm, dry weather to set right, so most paving happens from spring through fall. Call early to get a spot on the schedule.
